I wrote this for my auntie, Margaret Mackey who now lives in Toronto.
She left Macduff in the late 1950’s aged 20. She was Margaret Abel then, before she met her future husband, Alan Mackey, a fellow immigrant from London. They fell in love, got married and set up a new life in Oakville, Toronto. I love all my Canadian family and I know they love their Scottish roots, especially Margaret. My Dad’s big sister.
